Switch inventory software

Move your products, stock and open orders from your current tool.

Export CSV files from the tool you use now, check a preview of every change, then import.

Inventory data migration

What the importer brings over.

Six kinds of record, each with a preview before it posts.

Point of sale, manufacturing, EDI, and lot and serial tracking are not part of the product, so the importer skips them.

CSV import formats

The files the importer reads.

These are import formats. You export the files from your current tool, then import them here.

  • CSV exports from Cin7 Core

The first importer is shaped like Cin7 Core's CSV export files.

    Import format
  • CSV exports from inFlow and Unleashed

Importers shaped like each tool's export files read their products, stock, contacts, prices and orders.

    Import format
  • Any CSV or spreadsheet

Match your own columns once, and the column map is saved for next time.

    Import format

Columns read from Cin7 Core CSV exports

The importer reads these columns. If a header differs, you match it once before the preview.

Inventory software migration

Switch over a weekend, in seven steps.

Import on Saturday and Sunday, then run both tools side by side from Monday.

  1. Step 1: Export

On Friday evening, export products, stock, suppliers, customers and open orders as CSV.

  2. Step 2: Map columns

Match each column to a field and check the preview of the first rows.

  3. Step 3: Import

Import products first, then suppliers and customers, then stock, then open orders.

  4. Step 4: Count and check

Count a sample of SKUs at each location and compare them with the imported stock.

  5. Step 5: Check stock value

Compare the stock value report here with the old tool and QuickBooks before you cut over.

  6. Step 6: Run in parallel

From Monday, enter new orders in both tools for two weeks.

  7. Step 7: Cut over

When stock on hand matches for a full week, stop using the old tool.

Run inventory software in parallel

Two weeks with both tools, then cut over.

Enter the same work in both tools and compare stock on hand each day. Cut over after a full week with no gaps.

  • Sales orders

Enter each new sales order in both tools.

  • Purchase orders and receipts

Receive stock in both tools, so both show the same stock on hand.

  • Stock counts

Compare stock on hand for your busiest SKUs at each location every day.

  • Invoices

Raise invoices from the old tool until cut over, so your books get each one once.

  • Scripts and syncs

Point your scripts and syncs at the new tool on cut over day.

Inventory software onboarding

Choose a plan, or book a call to plan the move.

The import is self-serve, and there is no onboarding fee.
